We teach Greek in the town of Nafplio, which is one of the most popular and touristic destinations in Peloponnese. Nafplio was the newborn Greek State’s first capital in the early 1830s and played an important role throughout history before and after the War of Independence. The Old Town is wonderful, full of old mansions and paved streets. The area of Nafplio boasts several historical sites of interest worth visiting as our course will be unfolding. Additionally, it is very close to archaeological sites of great significance, such as Mycenae, Ancient Korinthos, Epidavros, Nemea, Tyrinth etc. as well as to wonderful beaches.
Regarding accommodation, there is a wide variety of hotels for the students to choose from. Here is a site in which you can find a list of selected hotels in Nafplio: If you need any help with your reservation, we will be more than willing to help you.
We can also book a room for you in Dias Boutique Hotel.

BRIEF HISTORY OF NAFPLIO – ATTRACTIONS
Nafplio is one of Greece’s prettiest and most romantic towns. It occupies a breath-taking location – on a small port beneath the towering bulk of the Palamidi fortress – and is graced with attractive narrow streets, elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions with flower-bedecked balconies and interesting museums. It attracts both overseas visitors and weekending Athenians who love this lively place that offers many quayside cafés, stylish boutiques and comfortable hotels and guesthouses.
The town, located twelve kilometers southeast of Argos on the Argolic Gulf, was Greece’s first capital following the country regaining its independence and has been a major port since the Bronze Age. So strategic was its position that it had three fortresses – the massive principal fortress of Palamidi, the smaller Akronafplia and the diminutive Bourtzi on an islet situated west of the old town.
Removed from the spotlight as Greece’s capital after governor Kapodistrias was assassinated, the town of Nafplio has been regaining attention as a trendy resort. Offering good bus connections and services, the town is an ideal base from which to explore many nearby ancient sites.
